If you experience problems with your wisdom tooth, it is often wise to have it removed by an expert dentist. Have your wisdom tooth pulled at Studentist Utrecht. If you choose our practice, you will benefit from the following advantages:
The treatment for removing your wisdom tooth consists of 3 steps: taking photos, removing your tooth and then the aftercare. We will explain the different steps to you:
If you are having trouble with your wisdom tooth, we will invite you to our practice. Here we will take a photo of your teeth and check whether the tooth is growing crooked. If this is the case, your tooth will probably have to be extracted. It is also possible that your gums are inflamed or that your wisdom tooth is too deep in your gums. To solve this, we will refer you to the oral surgeon.
If we have determined that your wisdom tooth needs to be extracted, we will schedule an appointment for this. During the appointment, we will give you an anesthetic to make the treatment as painless as possible. The dentist will then make an incision or move your gums to one side. After this, the dentist will pull out your tooth and stitch the wound.
A few hours after the treatment, the anesthetic will wear off. We advise you to take a painkiller to help with the pain in your mouth. It is important that you do not rinse your mouth on the day of the treatment. Rinsing your mouth can cause the stitches to open. You can drink and brush your teeth that day.
The Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) has set the rates for extracting wisdom teeth nationwide. This means that we at Studentist Utrecht charge the same prices as other dentists in the Netherlands. You can find more information about our rates on the rates page.
The basic insurance covers the costs of extracting your wisdom tooth until you are 18th year of age. If you are 18 or older, this treatment is not covered by the basic insurance. However, supplementary dental insurance often covers the costs of the procedure. Consult your health insurer if you want more information about this.
Our dental practice is located in the centre of Utrecht. By bike or public transport, you can reach the practice from Utrecht Central Station within 10 minutes. If you choose to come by public transport, you can use the following bus lines:
We advise you to always consult 9292.nl before departure. This way you can be sure that you will arrive on time for your appointment.
